If you’re in the market for a gourmand fragrance (i.e. one reminiscent of foody, sweet aromas) and already know Thierry Mugler’s classic Angel but want to go one better, try Innocent.
Clearly a misnomer, Innocent is a naughty little minx which winks at you behind giant eyelashes with its fruity tartness (berries and bergamot) and almond pralines nuanced with mouthwatering chocolate. Nabokov would have a field day envisioning this as the scent of his immortal heroine, Lolita.

My favorite of all time!!!! the very 1st time I bought this was when I took my mom and little sister to Paris, France~! Iwas stationed in Europe for 15 years and loved it soooo much. I honestly didn't know if I wanted to return stateside! but like all military members we do! I fell in love with this fragrance then, and wear it daily!~ everytime I spray it on myself it takes me right back to Paris! can we say "A little bit of Heaven, on earth". I've gottten more compliments wearing this perfume then any other perfume my whole life! and of course it makes you feel wonderful that someone would take the time to tell you that you smell wonderful! Love the fragrance!!!

Angel eviscerated, nothing like the original. I just can't get into this. I smell nothing but pine trees and cleaning products in this perfume, and it doesn't change for me during the drydown. Maybe I just don't have the right chemistry for it, but I thank my lucky starts that I can wear the original. The original smells sexy and yet soft. On the right person (i.e., not me), this can smell kind of fresh and fruity. But not sexy. It's definitely less gourmand than the original. I don't pick up any vanilla or chocolate notes at all. It's just alright for me. Not offensive, not stinky, but also not something I'd like to smell like.
