Dali’s first foray for his own perfume house in 1983 is this now iconic “Salvador Dali” fragrance, its bottle depicting the nose and lips of Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. The design came from Dali himself, drawing inspiration from his famous painting “Apparition of the face of Aphrodite of Knidos”, for which he won several packaging awards and the exportation Oscar awarded by Edith Cresson, the Foreign Trade Minister of France . The lush floral scent, fir for all romantic occasions, focused on Dali’s and his wife’s and muse’s favorite flowers, the very standbys of perfumery: jasmine for Salvador, rose for Gala... His homage to Aphrodite is a sign of how much he prized women in his life and art.
