I love how this cologne smells.. not too strong and not too light. The reason why this cologne is called "Black" is because it is a mixture of polo green and polo blue. Polo green, being a more stronger scent for older men and polo blue being a lighter scent for younger men. They put the best of both worlds into one bottle and created a very great smelling cologne that is not too strong nor to light. Dark Green + Dark Blue = BLACK. I strongly recommend this cologne to anyone looking for compliments or to simply smell great. Very great game picker upper.

Polo Black is one of the best out there. So many times have women told me wow you smell so good. it happens almost everyday. It is very lasting. Some people say it does not last long but i think it is because they get use to the smell. just a spritz and you are good to go. To enhance the cologne try the Polo Black body & hair was along with he deodorant. The body wash and deodorant do not smell just like the cologne they are lighter.

I enjoyed Polo Black by Ralph Lauren while it lasted. Which wasn't very long. I hardly smelled it after about half an hour or so. I gave it to a friend and it seems to react better to his chemistry than mine and woman compliment him (or so he says) a lot on how good he smells. To each their own..

I own a few different Polo brand colognes and Polo Black by Ralph Lauren by far is my favorite. In fact ,this past summer while out in the country buying some fresh corn a cashier liked it as well! A young female waited on me and appeared to be flustered. She apologized and stated that she was "sorry but I just smell so good". I was flattered and almost speechless.I said "jeepers" to the woman next in line and said "Thanks" and went on my way. I'm almost fifty and she was much younger that I but,I'll forever love those corn-fed girls and keep wearing my POLO BLACK !!!

Polo Black by Ralph Lauren smells fabulous! I love it! My boyfriend wears it all the time. The amount he wears certainly sets the mood for the evening. A small amount has a gentle scent and is nice for a light romantic evening but when he wears more he has to push me off of him so we can go have dinner.

Polo Black by Ralph Lauren smells very nice, although it is not at all "black." It smells very fruity and very sweet, and follows along the same lines as Joop! Homme. Maybe Polo Red would have been a better choice for the name, although that doesn't have the same marketability as black. Bottom line: don't judge a book by its cover.

I smelled Polo Black by Ralph Lauren in a magazine strip while I was waiting to board a plane and I liked it so much that I found myself flipping back to the front of the magazine so I could sniff it some more. It's the best men's scent I've smelled in a long time and I keep hoping Ralph Lauren will come out with a woman's version. I would never have thought mango would work for a cologne but it definitely keeps this scent fresh.

I picked up Polo Black by Ralph Lauren at the mall when the cologne I got from christmas, Polo Blue, ran out. Not only does it smell great it also looks great. It matches perfectly with my black marble bathroom counter top. The nice mettalic accents of the pony and the cap just shine in the light. I mostly wear polo blue at work as a nice smooth, calm, tranquil smell but i wear polo black to parties and formal events and such. It is more of a stronger smell that i might add the ladies love. It does come off as a bit strong at first but just wairs off until it matches a nice suddle tone. if your looking to buy this cologne i dearly urge you.

I was doing some work for L'Oreal when this was released last fall (L'Oreal produces all Ralph Lauren scents + many other designers) and some one told me to keep an eye out for it. The next day I saw a tester in a magazine and fell head over heals. Polo Black by Ralph Lauren is one of those scents that just stops me in my tracks when a guy wearing it walks by. I love it so much I bought it for my (picky) boyfriend. He enjoys it as well. I'm not really very good at knowing what distinguishes a "Black" cologne...but I know that this is excellent and sexy - clean, sophisticated, not too light or too overpowering. VERY NICE!

Polo Black by Ralph Lauren is a very good scent, but probably mismarketed. When I think of "black" scents I think of scents that are spicy and possibly even a bit "dirty". This is a pretty clean citrus smell with a hint of sweetness that would probably be best for work or casual wear. Longevity is pretty good as well.
