Zino Davidoff MUST be a Gemini: in expression of his dual nature, he’s a man who is both responsible for making the world smell better with his acclaimed fragrances, and worse, with his smoking products.
Flipping through the latest Vogue, I came across his ad featuring a woman sitting at a bar, holding a cigarette quite awkwardly. Minimal makeup, soft hair, pleasant, a far cry from the cowboy-laden mens smoking ads or biker chick bada**es from ads in the 1990s. (Were these supposed to be our ideals?)
Without knowing if one inspired the other, I can tell you that Davidoff has been a staple of the cigar industry longer than he’s been in fragrances. Zino, who states that pleasure knows no price and caters to such a notion with his fine quality products fit for indulgence and luxury, has recently targeted women with the 2009 release of light and menthol slim cigarettes.
The ad states that life is rich. And the sophisticated details of Davidoff Slims cigarettes are a perfect complement to your elegant profile.
I find his scents much more elegant than the smoking utensils and personally, I spend so much on creams and beauty products to keep away the wrinkles that I couldn’t even imagine throwing that small fortune away on the reverse effects that smoking cigarettes inspires.
Davidoff fragrances, including the top seller Davidoff Cool Water, are all aquatic, inspired by the ocean the freshest scents on the market. The name Davidoff in relation to fragrance inspires thoughts of good looking people rolling in the sand on beaches, rich blues contrasting against golden sands. I think Ill stick with this arm of the company.
