Geoffrey Beene Cologne for Men

Geoffrey Beene was a medical student in 1946 before the call of couture urged him to move to New York and study at the Traphagen School of Fashion. After completing his studies he moved to Paris in 1948 and enrolled at Academie Julian and l'Ecole de la Syndicate d'Haute Couture and to work for British fashion designer, Edward Molyneux. Returning to New York in 1951 Beene worked for various designers before setting up his own house in 1962. His first collection was launched in 1963 and a dress from that line was later worn by model Jean Shrimpton on the cover of Vogue—effectively putting him on the map.

Futuristic and timeless with a touch of fantasy and with a casual approach to textiles, Beene was able to blend different fabrics together to create some very interesting combinations along the way. Despite his passing in 2004 the Geoffrey Beene brand has continued and still offers cutting edge fashions from high priced couture collections to lower priced lines.

In 1976 Geoffrey Beene introduced his first men’s cologne, Grey Flannel. For those who wanted, but could not afford Geoffrey Beene fashions, Grey Flannel became their scent of choice. A classic, this crisp musky green cologne gives men a clean and flawlessly groomed feel—even without the perfectly tailored suit. A lighter fragrance, Eau De Grey Flannel is born of the original while Geoffrey Beene for women is a sharp, flowery fragrance with a nice blend of green and florals.

Geoffrey Beene Fragrance Reviews

gray flannel is a difficult and heavy perfume that probably doesnt fit cold and slim men (of vata constitution). again men with warm skin and hight blood pressure (without sweating) should be suitable for wearing this pleasant cologne, wich after applied, takes time to develop its fragrance benefits.

this cologne is definitely not for sensitive noses. its overwhelmingly strong and almost nauseating. its a crude, unbalanced composition and the jasmine part (not even declared) is too big. this blend is suitable outdoors, a few miles away.

It is a very distinct and classy scent. GREY FLANNEL may not be for everyone but it surely has appeal to many of discerning taste. It is truly an unforgetable scent, it is truly unique and unlike any other scent on the market that I am aware of. It evokes warm memories, when I am in its presence.

Unless you are 60 years or older, this cologne is not for you. It's smell is so strong and pungent that it made me nauseous even trying it.
