Sensuous, masculine, assertive...
John Varvatos, the designer of Greek extraction who made it big in the US, is no stranger to the art of launching good colognes. And Vintage For Men is no exception. This woody chypre is full of character, masculine yet refined, inviting but never overwhelming while out in the evenings. The synergy of tobacco and suede, rolled into sweet leaves of patchouli, produces a mysterious scent that hints at a worldlier guy than you might be, so take good care of what you’re going to say. Unless you want to leave your cologne to do the talking…to which we wouldn’t raise any objection! Beautiful flask bottle with a band of snakeskin leather encircling it, macho-style.
Created: 2006 Type: Chypre - Woody
Notes Top Note: Rhubarb, Quince, Absinthe, Spicy Notes Middle Note: Lavender, Cinnamon Leave, Jasmine, Orris, Fir Balsam Base Note: Patchouli, Oak Moss, Tonka Bean, Tobacco, Suede Accents

Review of John Varvatos Vintage by Soliz262 409
When I smelled both the regular John Varvatos and the Vintage. the first thing that came to mind what that when I turned 40 I would switch form the regular to Vintage. Its very distict for a man with wisdom and knowledge. Very good, not the best, but still has its place in my memory.

Vintage has a very distinct smell that is to die for. Got some hints of spice and freshness in it. It is very masculine and is sure to attract women. I recommend this to all men.

pretty good, albeit synthetic fragrance, clear notes are the rhubarb , some leather , and tobaccoo, there are better scents out there in this same ballpark, michael for men for instance by michael kors, if you really like rhubarb though you might enjoy this
