OMG!!! I totally love this. It is not too much, yet quite complex. It is my new favorite for sure!!!! I had tried to blend sents before and was looking for exactly what I have found in Bal A Versailles Perfume for Women by Jean Desprez. It is so versatile as it is subtle yet just lovely.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Anne Cathrine Saxlund
The scent is wonderful. I have had the perfume only once before, about 35 years ago, but never forgotten it and always looked for it. But first now I have found it again. It is sweet and spicy but does not feel heavy. If a perfume is heavy I get headace and feel sick at once. But this one I could smell all the time and just feel happy!

Review of Bal A Versailles by Pamela Kmiec
When I was three years old I was given a gift of a set of perfume miniatures - amongst which was Bal a Versailles. I loved it then, and more and more over the decades. I'm all for variety, and have several scents I enjoy, but Bal a Versailles is the standard by which all others should be measured. It's soft, sophisticated, NEVER overpowering - yet subtly and sensually present. You can't do better than this! Floral, citrus, amber - it's ambrosia.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Anita Collins
this is the first 'adult' perfume I ever wore. My husband bought it for me in France in the 1970s....and I have loved it ever since. It is flowery, elegant, sophisicated and clean. It is easy to wear as an all day fragrance and also as a special evening perfume....Love it!

Review of Bal A Versailles by Mc Cord Stevens
There's only one scent I've put regularly behind my ears or on my wrist, since I was 17, and that is Bal a Versailles. Before my godparents gave me my first tiny flask of it, as a going-off-to-college present, I wore Diorissimo or Chanel (various numbers), but ever since then, "le Bal" is my one and only, even thirty years later. My godparents both had really good noses, for herbs, wine, fruit, cheese, and perfume. They picked it out specifically for me. My godfather, in particular, was an old-fashioned gentleman who believed that a girl's scent was a signature, and once found, should not be changed except under duress, or to indicate serious changes in one's life view. My only problem has been the difficulty of finding it in department stores and such. Now it seems I can get it over the net! "Bal a Versailles" is not for everyone, and in my opinion, no perfume worthy of consideration is ever "for everyone." That's the point of a really good scent, it reacts specifically with the body chemistry. If it's really good, it keeps working for years. Also, one flask lasts a long time; you don't need much, in fact you don't want much. Another sign of quality. Oh yes, lest my name be confusing, I am a female.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Judith Weltmann
When I was a young girl, I saw this beautiful bottle of perfume on my grandmother's dresser. I was 10 at the time. It had the most wonderful scent, and I can remember asking her for a tiny spray of it whenever I visited. As I grew to be a teenager, I bought my first bottle and that was it, I've never worn another perfume/cologne. I never knew another person who wore it -- other than my grandmother -- until I met my husband's mother. We were at a hotel in NY City, and I was obviously trying to impress her. When we sat down for tea, I sniffed the air and thought, oh no, I've put too much perfume on. What will she think of me? But it wasn't me; it was his mother. I asked her if she was wearing Bal A Versailles, and she said yes. We had a good laugh about it. Maybe one of the reasons my husband was attracted to me was that his mother and I had that same wonderful scent. That was the first of many bonds we share together. At 60 years of age today, I have never, and will never wear another scent. Bala A Versailles is mine forever.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Linda Berlin
Bal A Versailles is a wonderfully delicate, yet aromatic scent. There is no overpowering scent to tire of. It is the only perfume I have worn for 20+ years and no matter where I go, comments about the beautiful scent abound. I have recommended it to many and have given many as gifts.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Kathleen Michelet
BAL A VERSAILLES by Jean Desprez is a traditional classic. It is rich, strong and womanly with oriental undertones, perhaps jasmine.. The bottle is lovely, as is the box. this is a vintage scent that is traditionally worn by a more sophisticated female. This scent is a come back favorite among those adventuresome ladies who prefer Victorian clothes.

Review of Bal A Versailles by Rara Ornan
There was something a bit sharp and chemically about this scent. Don't know what I expected but I thought that it was quite generic. Middle way through, it was yummy, it got yummier. The end. What a disappointment. I may be a real loner out there, but I judge my fragrances mostly on the basenote. What I can smell later in the day or on my tshirt the next morning. That's what you get most of anyway so I think it's not a bad idea. The end on this was amber. Amber and sweet and nothing else. I prefer musky ends, sexy smelling ends, but this was just like I had smudged half dissolved cotton candy on my wrist.
