Review of Ines de la Fressange by Yvonne Hernandez

I own both versions of Ines de la Fressange and both are very nice. The 1999 (simple bottle) is softer and lighter, and the 2004 smells as if it is related to the earlier one, but with a more pronounced tuberose note. You can find a great review of both fragrances on aromascope.com The 1999 has perhaps more lily of the valley than the newer. And I wouldn't call it "squat." The bottle has a lovely simplicity with its frosted edges, not as showy as the striking 2004, but quite elegant nonetheless. And yes, the 2004 bottle is gorgeous -- eat your hearts out YSL and Dior :D

The version pictured, in the squat bottle, is actually the 1999 version. The version in the tall bottle with gold leaves is the 2004 version, which is rather hard to find. I haven't tried the 1999 version but love the 2004 version (of which I have a carefully rationed sample vial).

I bought this because I'd run out of my Ines de la Fressange in the old packaging with the gold leaves on the bottle, for which I always received tons of compliments...this smells NOTHING like the old kind...very disappointing!
