I love this fragrance. Very earthy and sultry, not sweet and syrupy. I like to wear it for fall/winter. If you want to stand apart from the rest try it!

This has been my scent ever since its debut - morning, noon and night. Fresh, woodsy, light, sustaining. I love it.

My favorite perfume ever. I was in Atlanta at a convention and I had the pleasure of standing besides a female stranger on an elevator. The smell was so good that I had to ask her what she was wearing so I could buy it for my wife..... Within 2 hours I was online ordering the perfume. Gave it to my wife as a gift. She loves it. As do I. It's my favorite with #2 being D&G Light Blue for women. Let's just say that when my wife has this on I literally want take her down in a bad way. Only negative is that it fades after a couple of hours....... A++++++++ Can not give this perfume a better rating! Absolute favorite.

First of all I want to say that I'm sorry that I don't speak English very well, it's difficult to me to express what Un jardin Mediterranee smells like ... One thing I do can tell is that it makes me happy! When I wear it, I do smile a lot, I feel pretty, I feel good :-) It's a perfume whit a soul, flowers, wood, subtle en though very lasting, fresh ans still not only fresh, there is touch of magic in it that I adore. I will certainly try the other perfumes of Hermes too, this was the first I bought and I felt not one second sorry I did.

I LOVE the other Hermes I have, Sur le Nil and I'd heard this one was nice too. But it smells too much like a cedar closet! It's got lots of undertones, but the cedar is very strong.

Hermes is fabulous! In the winter, I love to wear Rouge and in the summer I wear UN JARDIN EN MEDITERRANEE. These fragrances work so well on my chemistry. Every time I wear this perfume, men and women tell me how wonderful I smell. The fragrance notes stay perfect all day on me in a light but complementary way. It drives my boyfriend nuts. Women ask what that heavenly scent is. I recommend this scent to any well traveled, sexy, classy, continental and forward thinking woman.

Behold the new Hermès: I hate it. After a long history of releasing wonderful fragrances, Hermès’ powers-that-be decided they needed a singular vision, so they hired one perfumer to make all their scents, and all their scents smell like this one. And what do they smell like? Dishwashing liquid. Un Jardin en Méditerranée has a fig note on top before a lemony note on dishwashing liquid. (Its successor, Un Jardin sur le Nil is green notes and tropical fruit on dishwashing liquid, while Terre d’Hermès is grapefruit dishwashing liquid.) But they’re all… dishwashing liquid. If you want to smell as if you’ve been scrubbing pots and pans – that bitter, aquatic, synthetic, alkaline smell so familiar to anyone not privileged enough to have a dishwasher or a maid – you’ll know of what aroma I speak. After a legacy that includes Calèche, Équipage, Bel Ami, and Eau des Merveilles, Hermès should do better than this.

This is very unisex. I tried it, and while I loved the opening fig notes, it dried into a candied mess on my skin. On my mother, however, it is fabulous, projecting the fig leaf, orange blossom and bergamot without being overbearing. The mastic tree note can make this difficult for some skin chemestries, so definitely try before you buy.

I want to like this so badly - I almost love it, but I just can't. Un Jardin in Mediterranee has a delicious top fig note that sadly fades within an hour on me. What is left behind is a fairly standard sweet, fruity scent. If the fig note lasted longer this would be a winner - a perfect balance of bitter and sweet. In Europe this is marketed as unisex, but it seems way too sweet and fruity to be used by a man.

UN JARDIN EN MEDITERRANEE by Hermes is truly a work of art. From its gorgeous outer packaging, to the elegant bottle, to the heavenly liquid bliss inside. This perfume may be a little on the expensive side, but it is well worth it, especially with the summer months ahead. I agree with the sentiment of another fellow reviewer: summertime weather does enhance this scent. Everytime I spray it I think of Springtime. It reminds me of strength and renewal mixed with a touch of honey and fresh-cut grass. This is a scent you dont want to miss out on.

Similarly to this fragrance's sister fragrance, Un Jardin sur le Nil, this fragrance is beautifully and carefully crafted to invoke the feeling of actually being in a garden in the south of France. It is earthy and herby like Nil, but its cedar and figgy notes make it quite distinct. I own both scents and feel they complement each other well as they share enough similarities to have a strong identity, but different enough that it is worth it to own both fragrances. As always, you will not be disappointed by any fragrance from Hermes.

Ummm - I really, really like this - and have surprised myself. While the name is nice and the bottle is pretty, I wasn't sure the notes would work for me - often these fresh, fruity modern fragrances smell SO plastic to me. This is orange and fig and cedar - not too sweet, not too dry - truly a well-blended and easygoing fragrance (easier than the notes sound!). This lasts and lasts and dries down in a very subtle way - it is unusual but not loud or overbearing at all.

Review of Un Jardin en Mediterranee by Pam Ecker
Ahhh! This is wonderful stuff. It is full and fresh, fruity and lush, yet light and un-obtrusive, fine for office, wonderful for summer. It has a whiff of tropical fruit, a little spice and a little beachy warmth. It is so pleasant to wear, and I swear, smells faintly like mangos throughout the day. When I wear it I'm always caught by surprise at the sillage. At first it did not seem to be long lasting, but summer warmth really enhances the qualities of this fragrance, so that it does last all day. A wonderful scent for the perfume shy, with light dimension and a happy disposition.
