Review of Shalimar by Ronald B Campbell

I bought some for my wife 34 years ago, and she has loved it ever since. I do too!
-
Review of Shalimar by Bridgette Conboy

I too, (like many of the other reviews I have read) have been using Shalimar since I was 13. I am almost 60. Where ever I go, someone is "always" asking me what I am wearing. When I tell them Shalimar, they say "oh yes, I remember that perfume, and it smells wonderful on you". I have tried others, but nothing compairs to Shalimar. I will NEVER switch. Thank you perfume.com for sell it at such a great price. The department stores that carry it are just too expensive.

Review of Shalimar by J.N.

The minute my wife tried Shalimar it became her favorite perfume. She is only in her thirties and quite modern and fashionable, so the whole idea that Shalimar is old fashioned is nonsense. Try a sample and see for yourself

Review of Shalimar by Anne Thomas

Since the first time I smelled Shalimar when I was about 14 yrs. old I loved it. My age is unlisted, but I have been wearing it for many years almost exclusively. I have worn other perfumes occassionaly, but always end up back with my favorite. I tell everyone don't buy me any scent unless it is Shalimar or Samsara cause it will be a waste of your money - goes to Good Will. This is the best. We have horses my mare Shannon is very smell sensitive if I go to her wearing another scent she shys away. For people who don't like it, I think too much of any good thing isn't good. Noone should bath in perfume that becomes unpleasant. A little works great. Anne

Review of Shalimar by Jo Brown

I have been the Shalimar lady for 63yrs. & would never ever change. I have people stop in airports, grocery stores or wherever I might be to find out what perfume I have on. My husband's mother wore Shalimar & he gave me my first bottle when I was 14 yrs. old & have never worn anything else all of these years. I am very sorry that the bottle has been changed 'cause the old bottle was so distinctive of Shalimar!!!!!!

Review of Shalimar by Diane Hutson

I, too, have been wearing Shalimar for many years ever since my hospital roommate had it 40 years ago. My husband brought my first bottle to the hospital and I'll never change. Shalimar IS ME!!!
-
Review of Shalimar by Madeline H

Shalimar has been my fragrance since my 17th birthday. I'm now over 60 and still love it. I prefer the perfume, as it holds it's fragrance better. Don't ever change my Shalimar!
-
Review of Shalimar by Nan

This is the smell of clean, light woodsey and I love this perfume!

Review of Shalimar by Elizabeth

I wouldn't be caught without my Shalimar. I started wearing it 48 years ago. Someone always says,"you smell wonderful,". When I told my oldest daughter I was thinking of changing perfume she said,"absolutely not, that's what my mother smells like."
-
Review of Shalimar by Mary K

I have been using it for 40 years. Wherever I go everyone asks me what kind of perfume I am using. It is the best.

Review of Shalimar by October Amy

I love Shalimar. It was my first "grown up" perfume and have bought it several times in the last 30 years. I go through cycles where I think it is too strong or too "old" but I always come back. I left the sample card on the floor of my car one day after a mall visit and WOW how I enjoyed that car for many weeks. Be very careful with this one as you could easily overdue it like the poor woman whose mother-in-law applied it in a closed car. That would turn off anybody. Recommend one spray only, and let it mellow before contact. :-)

Review of Shalimar by Jane Lord

I absolutely love this perfume!! My sister started using it and I wanted to jump into the bottle and take a bath in it. Unfortunately, when I tried to wear it, my body chemistry turned it into something nasty. I was SOOoooooo disappointed!! My sister still uses it, some forty-odd years later, and I love buying it for her, just so I can take the top off and sniff it before I give it to her. I swear, I could sit and sniff it all day! Every time I smell it, I think of my sister. I only wish I could wear it. This is the most beautiful perfume fragrance I've EVER smelled. I tried to copy it with Emeraude, which has a vague similarity; but nothing in the world can compare to pure Shalimar! It's yummy!!

Review of Shalimar by Judith K

This is not your everyday, casual fragrance. But when you're in the mood to send signals of exotic sex appeal, passionate emotions wrapped in an aura of mystique, reach for Samsara. Even the name evokes mystery and sex appeal. It sure sets a mood!!!

Review of Shalimar by Lloveslug

this is one of the best perfumes out there. it is in my top five all time favorite perfumes.

Review of Shalimar by Deborah Hefner

"Shalimar has been the only perfume I have used since 1962. A friend of mine was wearing Shalimar, and when I smelled it, I fell in love with the fragrance and have worn it ever since. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have heard, “What is the name of the perfume you are wearing?” After that many years, it is highly unlikely I will ever change fragrances."
-
Review of Shalimar by Judy Himelick

A friend introduced Shalimar to me during my Freshman year in college. So ever since 1964, I have been wearing Shalimar. My children and grandchildren definitely associate me with the fragrance of Shalimar. I still receive compliments on how good it smells on me! It is and always will be my favorite perfume.

Review of Shalimar by Zhara The Haflacrat

What can I say about such a classic that hasn't been said before? The opening is an explosion of honeyed fruit and the sweetest of spice. The middle is indescribably sexy, and the amber in the dry down is fantastic. Throughout, the floral notes are anchoring, never overpowering. The powdery hints in the finish put just the right softness on the bold and rich amber; this masterpiece has been around for nearly a century for a good reason. Simply put: it is an extremely rich, decadent night-out (or in!) fragrance. Wear it to work only if you want evil rumors to circulate about the office. And yes, if you like Obsession or Anne Pliska, both launched in the 1980's, once you try Shalimar, you'll know from whence they both stole their inspiration.

Review of Shalimar by Agnes Mc Keon

I am an avid user of Shalimar Parfumes and Powders since the 1980's. I was given a gift of Shalimar in a refillable atomizer spray that you carried in your clutch bag. I had never received so many offers to dance before. I can only say that it was indeed the Shalimar fragence that attracted those gentlemen to me. The musk and vanilla was truly an aroma to behold. Many years after that while I was attending a medical conference , a young nurse came by me, she turned around and asked" what is that perfume you are wearing:? I told her and she then thanked me by telling me that as she went by me she had the impression that her mother was standing beside her. I asked how could that be so and she went on to tell me that her mother and her grandmother both had used Shalimar in their lifetimes and wild horses couldn't tear them from ever trying anything but their Shalimar. I told her that I was happy to have provided her with such tender memories of them both and I hoped the she too might know one day what is in that fragence that brings strangers and families together. I believe it is just suttle enough to say " Hey World, Here I am, I have Arrived"; You Conldn't want for anything that smells like nature and it feels like heaven, could be little ole "Shalimar:.

Review of Shalimar by Fernando Corchado

I have been married to my wife Nirma for 45 years, and I have not seen her use any other perfume but ADT Shalimar by Guerlain. I have come to be so used to that small that I find other perfumes to smell stinky. Shalimar ADT smells so good to me that I feel much younger and with new vitality when near to my wife.

Review of Shalimar by Peggy Sharpe

Have loved this scent since I used to borrow it from my Mother as a child. It's still magic! When I wear Shalimar, every thing feels special!
-
Review of Shalimar by Francis J. Koza

ONLY PERFUME MY WIFE WILL USE AND NEVER WILL USE ANOTHER BRAND BECAUSE SHE REALLY LIKES THE SMELL OF SHALIMAR, SHE HAS BEEN USING IT FOR OVER 45 YEARS.

The use of Shalimar means there is one less worry to the already numerous worries of a busy day...........PS My husband likes it too!!!!!!!!!!!

Review of Shalimar by Judith Cettei

I have worn many different scents over the years, but it is to Shalimar that I have returned. I first wore it religiously in college during the 1960's and for some time after that. About five years ago I noticed one of friends always wore Shalimar and it brought back so many wonderful memories, like returning to a beloved place that I have visited. I immediately found a department store near me and purchased it. Then another friend told me about Perfume.com. I went on-line and ordered ALL the Shalimar products available. It is such a beautiful fragrance, as individual as the woman who wears it. My husband loved it 38 years ago and loves still today. Everywhere I go people always stop me and ask, "What type of perfume are you wearing?" I give it a 5+ rating, and hope many others will go on to enjoy it as well. Sincerely, Rev. Judith Cettei Lake City, South Carolina

Review of Shalimar by Janet Hefferan

Shalimar stands alone as a lovely scent. I have worn it for 50 years, since my teenage years and have never found anything to replace it, don't expect I will at the stage of my life. It has become more difficult to find at times, but now that I've found perfume.com I won't have to worry about that again.
-
Review of Shalimar by Sheryl Farnstrom

My mother has been using Shalimar since I was just little. I am 50 now. I have always loved the fragrance. It's light and airy. Soft and pretty. I would wear Shalimar, but I dont want to be my mother. (wink) I don't wear perfume, just never have. Could never find a fragrance I liked in my price range.
-
Review of Shalimar by Ellen Casey

I have used Shalimar before, but you really can't beat the smell of it. You can't beat the price either. I even ordered the shower gel and now I smell "Shalimar" all over!
-
Review of Shalimar by Sheryl Hutnick

shalimar is aroma therapy that is sweet but sensual, and never over powering. I indulge everyday in this scent that seems to bring calmness to my busy world.
-
Review of Shalimar by Geri Petraglia

I have major allergies to most perfume's and this one didn't bother them. A friend was wereing it, so I ordered some. Received it and loved the soft, lovely smell.
-
Review of Shalimar by Virginia Cleft

My mother-in-law wears this perfume exclusively, and every time I smell it, it makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. She recently sprayed it while we were captive in an enclosed automobile, and I would not say that the scent lingers, but permeates... everything. For those who know what I mean, I empathize with you as well.
-
Review of Shalimar by Sharon Henry

I love this fragrance, it is sophisticated, and remains unique. I wish I had an air freshener, or room diffuser with this scent. It's wonderful.
-
Review of Shalimar by Lorna Wollaston

I have been using Shalimar since my twenties and I am a few months shy of sixty now. It is really a sexy fragrance and it feels that way even now! Love it!!
-
Review of Shalimar by Sharon Lawrence

I have been wearing Shalimar since I was 16 years old. I am now 62, I love the timeless of the scent. Even though I have tried some of the newer scents. Shalimar will remain my all time favorite. Thanks you for making it easier to buy. Sharon Lawrence
-
Review of Shalimar by Laura Pike

This is truly a classic scent, which I think will be around for a long time...I remember my grandmother wearing it when I was a child. I love the scent partly due to memories but also for the powdery, comforting smell. While strong at first, it does dissipate into something lighter fairly quickly.
-
Review of Shalimar by Judy Reeves

I bought this scent because I heard Elvis Presley loved his girlfriends to wear it. Silly i know but he always had good taste so wow! where have i been with this scent all these years. Truly one fragrance that is so timeless and classy. No wonder this one is still so popular after all these years.
-
Review of Shalimar by Robin Senseman

I bought this scent for myself and find it too strong for my tastes. I am not real impressed with the musky smell.
-
Review of Shalimar by Erica Cook

The parfum is incomparable to the EDT and EDC. Shalimar parfum is infinitely more complex, warm and beautiful than it's watered-down versions. It starts out with a slight, non-fruity, non-bighting lemon/bergamot, anchored by the warmth of a pure sandalwood and spicey vanilic base. The floral aspects of Shalimar are a whispered compliment to the rich, prominant basenotes. This fragrance speeks timelessly of comfort, confidence and elegant sophistication.
-
Review of Shalimar by Marta Valdes

I don't really like this perfume. The smell is very strong and it really does not smell good. It smells like rotten lemons. I was given this perfume as a goft and upon opening it I immediatly didn't like it and it has been sitting on my perfume shelf for over 7 years.
-
Review of Shalimar by The Kitty

This is such a lovely classic scent. It always remind me of the twenties style flapper dancers. My aunt wore this for years and she always smelled so great. I wouldn't recommend this scent for people who like light, fruity perfumes. It's suited more towards a musky style.
-
Review of Shalimar by Dorna Chu

Funny how it's classic to someone but it's absolutely nasty on others... I am not a fan of this "classic" perfume. In fact I can't stand it at all, to me it's all musky and old-ladyish, and I can't wait to get it off me. Supposed to be warm citrussy and vanilla-ish, but nose only picked up dirty powder, not appealing musk, and some offensive scent that I can't even describe. Please keep in mind that this is my own intrepretation and alot of people considered this a masterpiece, classy perfume. It just doesn't work with my chemistry or my olfactory. Sorry, won't get paid to put this on.
-
Review of Shalimar by N/A

It's a classic oriental scent. I loved it in the first sniff...nice combination of spice and floral. A bit sweet side. I gave 4 because the drydown get sweeter in the way that (it becomes very sweet floral on me) I feel a bit too young to pull off this fragrance. It's sexy in very mature way.
-
Review of Shalimar by Jenni Kmiotek

I find myself reaching for this fragrance when I'm not really sure what I want to wear, but it needs to be classy. I've found a lot of people recognize the scent and think better of me for wearing an expensive, classic perfume. It's a bit heavier than I like -- I wish they'd make a lighter version -- but the musky scent is unmistakable. It screams sex from across the room. It's mysterious and eye-catching... well, nose-catching?... but not too out there the way some boutique fragrances can be.
-
Review of Shalimar by Christie Hall

Shalimar doe not have good smell! Goodness this is not what I expected when I smelt it! It's not at all good, and it was given to me as a gift! I've never used it. In fact It's just sitting there in my drawer. I'm not sure what to do with it? I'm scared to give it to someone else :(
-
Review of Shalimar by Amanda Young

This is a timeless scent. My mom has worn this perfume for years and it will forever remind me of her whenever I smell it. I always thought she smelled wonderful when I was a kid and it still smells just as wonderful now. The smell mixes great with her and is not over-powering like a lot of other perfumes.
-
Review of Shalimar by E. Price

Shalimar is just kind of iffy, at best, to me--nothing horrifically wrong with it, but nothing that standout either. It's a very musky oriental scent, and the packaging does a great job at conveying its general aura of mystery. Otherwise, not sure what the fuss is about!
-
Review of Shalimar by Phyliss Miller

The first time I tried Shalimar my boyfriend gave it to me for christmas. I have been using it ever since and I never go without a bottle. Every where I go I get compliments and people asking me what the perfume I am wearing is. The scent is not to strong and it is not too light. It will last and it has a smell that says classy and classic. When I wear it I feel like a million dollars. Try it and you will love it.
-
Review of Shalimar by Karen Ad

How can you not like Shalimar? Is it not everyones first "real" perfume? It is the classic designer fragrance that everyone grew up with and loves! Usually too expensive for most of us to afford, it is available here for a very reasonable price! It is a true deep, romantic, formal scent. Will never "expire" or change in smell as it has quality ingredients that are timeless!
-
Review of Shalimar by Ann Hall

This perfume brings memories for me. My mother wore this frangrance and when she would leave for work in the mornings your could smell it down the hall from where she had just been. It is a lovley soft frgrance and a classic perfume. This will make a great mother's day gift this year.
-
Review of Shalimar by Amy Mohr

Personally - not one of my favorite at all. If you are a fan of more musky scents than perhaps one might like this fragrance. I do not like musk, so I passed my fragrance on to a friend.
-
Review of Shalimar by Karen Woods

You can't go wrong with Shalimar! It's one of those fragrances that smells different on everyone who wears it. A friend of mine tried mine and she hated it. It did smell harsh on her. On me, it smells wonderful. People often ask me what I'm wearing when I wear Shalimar. It's not too harsh, however, people notice it when you're wearing it. I love the powdery part of the fragrance. I'd recommend Shalimar to everyone!
-
Review of Shalimar by Meghan Anderson

Shalimar is a tried and true fragrance with a musky, thick, mysterious smell to it. Every time I smell it, I feel like I am being taken away to some sort of exotic land. Shalimar would make an excellent sexy gift: perhaps for Valentine's day, or to celebrate an anniversary, because it is both romantic and sensual. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good present.
-
Review of Shalimar by Kami Griffin

Shalimar is a classic. It is musky and mysterious. My Mom wears Shalimar, and ONLY Shalimar. It is the only perfume she can wear that does not irritate her nose or skin. As such, while I like Shalimar for it's timeless appeal, I always associate the scent with older people or "Mom Figures." This is not a bad thing, but it is certainly not a perfume for a younger generation. It is along the lines, to me, as Chanel No.5 or other "older" scents.
-
Review of Shalimar by Carma Rasmussen

This is my all-time favorite fragrance. It is so distinctive and elegant. When I first tried it as a teenager, I broke out in a rash for some reason and it made my skin hot but I didn't care because I loved how it smelled! I wear it now without any problems.
-
Review of Shalimar by Mikell Robinson

I have loved Shalimar's scent for many, many years. It is one of those scents that, when you smell it, there is not doubt you are smelling Shalimar. I personally find the smell a very pleasant, sweet one. It is one of those scents that I have WANTED to be able to wear. To me, it has a hint of vanilla. BUT to me, the scent is a bit TOO sweet and a bit TOO strong. I love vanilla, but I guess I'd better stick to baking with my vanilla rather than wearing it.
-
Review of Shalimar by Mary Ballerin

Shalimar is a classic perfume. Soft and lovely. I don't know anyone who doesn't love Shalimar, I know I do!
-
Review of Shalimar by Dawn Wilson

This is certainly a classic scent, though I find it to be very overwhelming. Personally, I don't care for it. My mother had a bottle around that she never used and I got into and overdosed in about the 4th grade - it was a hideous smell I'll never forget.
-
Review of Shalimar by D. Mounts

Introduced in 1925, just the fact that SHALIMAR not only is still in production but also that it continues to receive significant counter space in major department stores attests to its worth. This has been called the prototype of the oriental perfumes. It is a strong fragrance, with notes of bergamot, iris, and vanilla. Definitely a classic perfume.
-
Review of Shalimar by Jo Roccuzzo

Next to Chanel No. 5, Shalimar is probably the most loved and familiar classic in the fragrance pantheon. It is a timeless oriental with rich floral and spice notes melting down to vanilla and tonka bean -- a tribute to romantic love. As with most scents, the parfum and eau de parfum strengths are far superior to the weaker EDT and EDC and are well worth the extra cost.
-
Review of Shalimar by Marilyn Jones

A classic, timeless scent that speaks to the genius of perfumers long gone. I consider Shalimar good for all times of day even though some reviews suggest nightime.
-
Review of Shalimar by Chris Isakson

the smells tend to blend. Now that I\'ve learned that it\'s the cologne and not the person I expect to like it more.
-
Review of Shalimar by Lynn Feinberg

Love This.It reminds me of my favorite Aunt. She used Shalimar all of the time.
-

I have 11 kids and 12 grandchildren and they all know me by my smell. SHALIMAR IS KNOWN ALL OVER BECAUSE OF ME...HAVA
