Shalimar Perfume for Women by Guerlain
Shalimar by Guerlain perfume is an oriental floral fragrance for women launched in 1925. Inspired by the love of an Indian Emperor for his magnificent wife, Mumtaz-Mahal (for whom the Taj Mahal was built) Shalimar is named after “The Gardens of Shalimar,” where their love grew. A deliciously fresh flight becomes hazy and sensual when the vanilla and powdery notes of its sweet, sensual base are discovered.

"The minute my wife tried Shalimar it became her favorite perfume. She is only in her thirties and quite modern and fashionable, so the whole idea that Shalimar is old fashioned is nonsense. Try a sample and see for yourself"

"Since the first time I smelled Shalimar when I was about 14 yrs. old I loved it. My age is unlisted, but I have been wearing it for many years almost exclusively. I have worn other perfumes occassionaly, but always end up back with my favorite. I tell everyone don't buy me any scent unless it is Shalimar or Samsara cause it will be a waste of your money - goes to Good Will. This is the best. We have horses my mare Shannon is very smell sensitive if I go to her wearing another scent she shys away. For people who don't like it, I think too much of any good thing isn't good. Noone should bath in perfume that becomes unpleasant. A little works great. Anne"

"I have been the Shalimar lady for 63yrs. & would never ever change. I have people stop in airports, grocery stores or wherever I might be to find out what perfume I have on. My husband's mother wore Shalimar & he gave me my first bottle when I was 14 yrs. old & have never worn anything else all of these years. I am very sorry that the bottle has been changed 'cause the old bottle was so distinctive of Shalimar!!!!!!"
