Light, sparkling, sensual...
The first attempt in Shalimar's modernisation was introduced in 2003, created by Mathilde Laurent and was baptised Shalimar Eau Légère, with the moniker Light Fragrance written below the French. Codefied as Shalimar Light, this brilliantly revamped but discontinued version of the classic Shalimar appealled to younger women who had only vague recollections of the original or even found it difficult to wear yet desired to claim some part of that iconic Guerlain. Mathilde Laurent, a very modern woman in the field with brilliant and innovative ideas, worked on brightening the top considerably and lightening the smokier, resinous and leathery facets of the base, leaving the vanilla shine with its delectable character. The result? Lemon vanilla cupcakes consumed Chez Angelina's in Paris with all the flair of a young and mischievous coquette who is thoroughly enjoying herself, dressed in boho-chic attire.
Created: 2003 Type: Oriental
Notes Top Notes: Lemon, bergamot Middle Notes:Jasmine, iris, orange Base Notes:Vanilla, amber

Review of Shalimar Light by Kathleen Blair
Recently I was at a restaurant and a women passed by with a scent I recognized and loved. I knew I was familiar with it and shortly identified it as Shalimar. After finding it now as Shalimar Light; I ordered a bottle. The bottle is different, but the scent is the same mesmerizing one I remember. It really takes you away from the stresses of the day! I love it!

Review of Shalimar Light by Jo Brown
I have worn Shalimar since I was 15 yrs. old because my then boyfriend's mother wore it & he loved it. After 10 yrs. he became my husband & he had been giving me Shalimar all of those years so have never worn anything else. Now I am 75 yrs. old & known as the "Shalimar Lady" & would not be without it ever. Altho, I do not like the new bottle 'cause they just don't look like Shalimar!!! It will be the last thing sprayed on me when I die 'cause I want my husband to smell me coming!!! Thank you for allowing me to brag on your wonderful perfume!!

Review of Shalimar Light by Judy Simpson
This is absolutely the best I've ever used! I've worn Shalimar since I was in college(over 40 years ago) because a freind of my parents wore it and I loved the way she smelled. Then Shalimar Light came along and I tried it and now I can't go back to the heavier Shalimar. I get so many compliments because of it's light but wonderfully sweet smell. I was very disappointed when it disappeared last summer that I wrote to Guerlain and found out it's coming back next summer. I'm thrilled and will continue to use it for as long as it's available.

Review of Shalimar Light by Tasha Tasha
I tried this several times before deciding I really do like it. It's a soft, fresh citrus-sweet-vanilla scent that is wonderful for summer. The initial spritz is very fresh, bright and clean - citrusy-lemony goodness. The dry down softens that a bit and a lovely sweet vanilla emerges, what I would categorize as a foody vanilla. This is a very subtle scent - it will not precede you into a room, or linger after you've left.
