• Review of L'Instant by Scent Hound

  A modern spicy oriental that smells different from the crowd in large part because of the star anise in the middle notes. There is some citrus and jasmine as well, with the typical patchouli and sandalwood basenotes of many orientals. A word of caution: the EDT and EDP emphasize the notes somewhat differently, so be careful to buy the one you have sampled and prefer.

  I’m not a fan of patchouli, and this one’s got A LOT of it. Makes me almost taste it. If that’s something you like, then it’s a very balanced and warm scent, with light woody and citrus additions. Again, it’s the top anise notes that get through to me in an unpleasant way; and these wear out really quickly.

• Review of L'Instant by Adam Pyle

  L'Instant de Guerlain is truly an amazing scent. With its powdery notes similar to Gucci pour Homme it is spicy and exotic. However, unlike the Gucci PH, it is elegant and refined. It invokes thoughts of Parisian nightclubs (perhaps the Moulin Rouge?). It is a scent that is appropriate for day and night time wear any time of the year. I definitely recommend this scent to any avid fragrance collector.
