Review of Gentleman by Frank White

Over the years, I've had many women stop me to inquire as to the brand, scent, etc. One even guessed it was Gentleman Givenchy! Guess how they pronounced the name? I have ordered this product from Perfume.com not only by internet but by phone. Both events were very pleasant and shipment was very prompt. Please stay around for a very long time, Perfume.com! F.D. Review of Gentleman by Dennis Schnak

This colgne has been around for over 30 years. It's like the Cadilac of older frangrances. I never bought this classic back then, because all I could afford was Halston. Gentleman starts off strong and a little overbearing. However, the dry down frangrance mellows into a wondeful sweet leathery like smell. It's like putting on a new leather jacket. This is definately a dress up cologne, refined and romantic. This is a must have for all gentlemen.

I indulge myself in fragrances for men. I enjoy them. When I smelled this the first time on an older lover I had to go out that weekend and buy it for myself. I tried it and thought is was too feminine at first. After twenty minutes it settled down and became completely subtle. I get complements on my scent almost every time I wear it in the evening. I have over twenty other scents I've worn and this is my favorite. Definitely a gentleman's fragrance. I imagine Cary Grant smelling like this.

Review of Gentleman by A. Woolsey

Scents don't come more animalic or earthy than Givenchy Gentleman. A massive ball of patchouli, Russian Leather, and civet, studded with cloves around a central rose note, Givenchy Gentleman is a swinging remnant from the mod era, full of swagger and electricity. It's also got a very English feel to it, a scent that befits English tailored suits or the colorful clothing by designers such as Ben Sherman, Ted Baker, or Paul Smith. What begins so pungent and bold (almost sour) mellows over the wearing to something sweet and warm. While it may be off-putting on first meeting, this is a scent that is very rewarding.

One of the all-time great dress up fragrances. Cinammon, tarragon and rose counterbalance the heavy patchouli, and honey sweetens it ever so slightly. May be off-putting on initial spray because the patchouli is so potent, but give it a little time and you will be rewarded with a complex, refined and very distinguished scent.
