I became aquainted with Amarige by Givenchy in a rather unique way. My husband came home from work and rushed over to me with a magazine page in his hand and excitedly said "buy this"!! I thought he saw a dress or some sexy night-wear but to my surprise it was an advertisement for Amarige that included the scent. I was as happy as he was about this because I loved what I smelled! After I purchased Amarige and began wearing it, I was even more enamored with the fragrance itself. It lingers for quite a while and even stays on clothing. Amarige by Givenchy is my very favorite. It is not a heavy or a sweet fragrance. However, it is one that my friends and family like on me. They always seem to notice it when I hug them. It is not overwhelming, but subtle. I am particularly happy that I can purchase it from Perfume.com. rather than having to purchase it at the regular price at a department store. Every bottle I have ordered from Perfume.com has come in perfect condition.

I have been wearing Amarige by Givenchy since it first came out & I get soooooo many compliments on it, both from women & men. I also can either be in an elevator already or just getting on it & without fail, almost every time it's full, someone will ask "Who's wearing Amarige?" I, of course, always raise my hand! LOL It smells so good on me that I have NEVER changed it since I started wearing it years & years ago. Someone will buy me some other fragrance & I either give it away or just return it for credit to buy more Amarige. Most times tho, men will tell me that they loved the smell so much that they bought it for their wives & then get disapointed that they don't smell the same way, so you need to understand that it works with your body's own chemistry & hopefully you will smell as good! I will NEVER wear anything else again, I even keep 5-6 bottles of different sizes each, purse sizes & large & largest sizes on hand in case they quit making it! I doubt they will tho, as it is only sold in the better stores, or now you can find it on line easy, as I did here on Perfume.com, even on E-Bay! SO, I hope you will at least try it & that you smell as good as everyone says I do! p.s. I always use the powder as much as the spray, it just keeps the smell going on longer, lol

Everyone tells me THIS is my fragrance. I get compliments all the time. Strangers will ask what I'm wearing. The Body creme is very very nice. You can almost just wear it alone it's so fragrant. Well worth the money. Amarige by Givenchy is in my mind a real classic fragrance.

Amarige by Givenchy was a signature scent for me for a long time, which is saying a lot since I am addicted to buying new ones all the time. I wore this out one night, and this man got out of the car and said expletives (lol) and I asked "What?" He said, "G*dDA**, what is that you're wearing?!" I told him Amarige de Givenchy and he exclaimed, "D***, that smells so good!!!" Blunt, but still a nice compliment! I also let my best friend borrow it, and she liked it so much, she bought herself a gigantic bottle of it, and hasn't stopped wearing it since. Didn't bother me any; it's not like we're dating the same guy or something! Good, quality scent to try, if you're stuck on finding something.

I have used Amarige by Givenchy for years. It has a nice sweet smell. It is not over powering. It leaves people always wanting to know what fragrance you are wearing. It is very feminine smelling and just drove my husband crazy. It was what he liked to smell at night after taking my shower and getting ready for bed. Just spray it on and when you walk into a room everyone's head will turn because it smells just that GREAT!! For a romantic night be sure to spray this perfume around the room and especially on the bed sheets for a wonderful night.

I had given up on wearing (or even sampling) scents because so many gave me horrible headaches. But, my DH wanted to get me one, so we did a little research and found the ingredient that was bothering me - Amarige by Givenchy was one of the only ones we found without it. And we both loved it, too boot! It's very sophisticated and romantic at the same time. Every time I wear it, people tell me how much they love it. I also love that the name is an anagram of the French word for 'marriage.' Verrry romantic!

This perfume was given to me as a gift. I was so pleased with the fragrance that I have only purchased Amarige by Givenchy and used it for over five years now. Needless to say, it's my favorite. I spray it on in the morning before going to work, and the fragrance lasts all day and into the evening. The smell is light and not too sweet. I give it 5 stars.

I wear this year round, it's kind of a heady, floral scent with a little spicy, fruitiness to it. I wear it with jeans and when I dress up for a nice dinner out. I get compliments often when I wear it, everyone wants to know what my perfume is. My husband loves it and always stands a little closer when I wear it. it's one of those scents that makes you breathe in a little deeper just so you can keep smelling it. it's wonderful!

My brother bought Amarige for me as a gift for Christmas. Although he thinks it's a great fragrance ("It's hot" were his exact words), I'm not as impressed. I think it's a little overwhelming, so definitely smaller doses are better. It's also a pretty formal scent, so more for evening wear and special occasions. Apparently from a guy's perspective though, it's an appealling scent.

Amarige by Givenchy is a beautiful perfume and has a scent that is strong, but when put on right it's well just right. Even the bottle is simple but elegant. You'll love the packaging that it comes in also. I believe that the way a perfume is bottled makes it beautiful also. You have to want to put it on. I have come about this perfume because it was one of my mother's favorites. Yes she wears alot of different perfumes, but she loves to try out new kinds and she will occasionaly keep them around to switch around the scents depending on the occassion. If you like Givenchy's many different perfumes then you'll love this one!

My first impression of this scent is that I thought it had a kind of soapy-clean smell to it. I smelled it again and the woodiness of the fragrance hit me. Its a lovely scent. Its a very dainty and delicate type of fragrance. There is a very light floral scent to it. This is a fragrance for a very femine woman and I would say it's something that might be worn in the day time, because I don't think its flirty enough for night.

Amarige is my favorite fragrance of all time! It smells strongly of gardenias and dries down to a divine and pleasant entity. It can be strong and will smell sour on some women, but when worn on the right person (i.e. with the right chemistry) it is pure heaven. Easily Givenchy's most pleasant fragrance. It's quite unique and I've never smelled any other fragrance like it. It lasts a long time and if you like it, it will haunt you for eternity. It might be too potent for work (though I suppose it could be applied lightly) but it is perfect for clubbing, an evening at the opera or a quiet night with friends. Highly recommended!

Amarige is by far the most appealing fragrance for all ages of the Givenchy line. From the unique elegance of the bottle design to the long-lasting beautiful scent, Amarige has been a favorite in my perfume collection for years. Although the aroma lasts throughout the day, it's not overly dramatic and nauseating like some of the other Givenchy attempts. This is surely a must-have treasure!

In 1998 I got a sample in an assortment of samples and I've never looked back. I don't think a day goes by where someone isn't complimenting me on "my" smell. I had run out shortly before Christmas 05', I told my husband that I wanted a bottle @ Christmas. He apparently didn't find it of high importance. So the day after Christmas I went to the local CVS and purchased my own. I can't live without it!
