One of the most well known real estate moguls in the United States, Donald Trump was born in 1946 into a family already rooted in real estate. Longing to be an actor as he was growing up Trump opted to enter into the family business upon graduation from university—his grandfather and father were real estate developers who earned their fortune building rental housing in New York City.

By the 1980s Trump had built an empire in real estate, casinos, sports and transportation. The recession of the 1990s hit Trump hard and he was unable to meet his various loan payments. Hundreds of millions were lost by his banks and bond holders yet they opted to restructure his debt to avoid the risk of losing more money in court. By 1994 Trump had managed to eliminate a large portion of his debt yet he was forced to relinquished control over several key assets and his dominance of the real market has never been the same again.

Trump found Hollywood celebrity in 2003 with his show, The Apprentice, which garnered him two Emmy Award nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In keeping with his new found fame, Trump has licensed his name to various types of merchandise from books, to food, to housewares, to clothing, accessories and fragrances. His signature cologne, Donald Trump, was released in 2004. A citrusy green fragrance with a “secret” core, this masculine scent is rounded out with spices and pepper on a bed of exotic woods.
