The lady who played Betty Rizzo in the musical Grease got her start (not surprisingly) in Broadway and theatre. Her television and film career success, meanwhile, has gone up and down like the bobbing ponytails on her Grease co-stars, but theatre remains her steady ground. She took on the Rizzo role, playing a high school teen, when she was 33, and she won a People's Choice award for Best Supporting Actress for her efforts. Unfortunately her career fizzled out shortly after, until 1999 when she took a solid role on TV series The West Wing.
