She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite (1995), but has spent much of recent years performing in smaller indie flicks and as mommy to her three children, the youngest of which was born just this past June. Mira may not leave an onscreen legacy, BUT, in honour of her role as an entomologist investigating deadly insect mutations, "mirasorvone" was the name given to a compound excreted by the sunburst diving beetle as a defensive mechanism. What a feat!
