Famous #23 from the Chicago Bulls is all-star Michael Jordan; the retired NBA star was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation, and was instrumental in popularizing the NBA throughout the 1980s and 1990s-- his leaping ability earning his the nickname "Air Jordan" and his Nike Air Jordan sneakers selling out around the globe. Unfortunately Michael hasn't been as faithful to the game as it's been to him; Michael tried retiring multiple times (once to try baseball), and also tried his hand at acting when he starred in 1996's Space Jam flick as himself. Regardless, MJ has left his legacy as one of the most important NBA players in its history.
