While studying to be a drama teacher in England, Kristin was told that she'd "never be good enough" to act; so she left to be an au pair in Paris. It was there she fell further in love with acting, and the French culture; later in life she acquired French nationality and now considers it her home. France also offered her respect and attention as an actress, and roles began to appear immediately following her graduation. Today, Kristin is best known for her roles in The English Patient, Four Weddings and a Funeral and more recently, Confessions of a Shopaholic.
