Dustin Hoffman's mantle is packed end to end with awards he's accumulated in his almost 50 years of acting; a far cry from his beginnings, shacked up with Robert Duvall in a tiny NYC apartment, them both struggling for roles to pay the bills and working jobs (like stringing leis!) to make ends meet. In 1967 Dustin caught his big break with The Graduate, which won him unprecedented attention and an Academy Award nomination. This ended the string of leis and seemingly started a string of luck for Hoffman, who continued to star in films -and gather awards- throughout the following decades, to present day.
