Beloved, jaded Miranda-- like her infamous Sex & The City character, Cynthia Nixon is NYC born and bred; but that's where the similarities end. Cynthia was born to an actress mother and has been in the industry since the age of 12, both on screen and theatre stages. Although she did win a Tony for her stage work in the early 90s, SATC's run (1998 to 2004) allowed Cynthia to establish herself in her first recognizable TV role, as the sensible red-headed lawyer friend part of the fabulous foursome. Her TV BFFs stood beside her in real life through both breast cancer and her battle for gay rights-- there's no season end for that kind of love.
