The lady who played Betty Rizzo in the musical Grease got her start -not surprisingly- in Broadway and theatre. Her television and film career success, meanwhile, has gone up and down like the bobbing ponytails on her Grease co-stars, but theatre remains her steady ground. She took on the Rizzo role, playing a high school teen, when she was 33, and she won a People's Choice award for Best Supporting Actress for her efforts. Unfortunately her career fizzled out shortly after, save for a quick boost in the 90s, until 1999 when took a solid role on TV series The West Wing.
