The note of mint is a curious case in perfumery: Try not to evoke toothpaste or chewing gum! Yet when it comes to such a sophisticated house that produces the most exquisite watches and luxury goods such as Cartier, matters get into the expert hands (Mathilde Laurent in this case) who know how to avoid that little problem. Roadster is a masculine cologne with a delightful and fresh, modern note of mint in its heart, which isn't sporty but rather sophisticated, reserving the cooling for the nose instead of the skin. The base notes reveal a soft musky character with sweet vanilla which is subtle and appetising, like a warm, freshly baked delicasy accompanied by herbal tea, sipped by a handsome representative of the XY chromosome. The luxurious, heavy bottle reprises a familiar for the house design: When held horizontally on its side, the polished chrome cap mimics the hand dial of the Roadster watch by Cartier (which itself mimics the design of a roadster automobile). Cool!
