I prefer this men's version of Weekend over the women's. While it is also citrusy like the women's version, it is less acidic. I can definitely smell some grapefruit, ivy leaves, oakmoss, sandalwood and light musk in this. The lemon, tangerine scent evaporates very quickly. (For me, that's a good thing!) Just wished it would last a bit longer than 4 hours. Since it's rather inexpensive for a quality scent, I don't mind tossing the bottle in my purse and refreshing once or twice, during the day.

This French-made fragrance has a much more distinct smell than most other fragrances I have used. It is not at all sour, and at the same time is not sweet. It sort of finds its way at a mid-point with a pleasant, somewhat strong aroma. This cologne is definitely one for the work environment or professionals. It has a smell that can be distinct in the workplace, but in a good way. It leaves a trail of good aroma without being too sporty and at the same time without being cheesy, or even worse, tacky. In other words, while it is a distinct smell, it isn’t overly strong and is overall agreeable.

I started using Vetiver Carven Cologne for Men by Carven in 1957. I was introduced to it by a friend and bought it at Filene's in Boston. I live in Minnesota and have found it hard to get. The last time was at the Mall of America. I even had a friend pick up some in France when they were traveling. It is the best cologne that I have ever used and friends ask me what is that cologne you have on and where can we get it. Keep on importing it. Thank YOU!
