It’s a wrap!
In a few short hours, the paparazzi will snap their last shots of Mary Kate, the NYC Fashion Week tents will come down, and the collective team of runway models will finally get to go home and have themselves a well-deserved sandwich. (Or, at least, so we hope.)
But before all that happens, one of perfume.com’s fave designers, Ralph Lauren, will help close out the 2008 shows by galloping onto the runway with his ready-to-wear collection for spring.
Check back on style.com tomorrow for the full details.
(A while you’re there, be sure to check out the recap of the super-lavish black-tie fete Ralph threw himself last Saturday to celebrate his 40th year in business. In addition to the usual fashion who’s-who, other glitzy guests included SJP, Martha Stewart, and Robert DeNiro. DeNiro, people!)
And finally, let’s talk about his frags. Ralph’s been in the scent-biz since 1978, when he launched two of his classics: Polo for Men and Lauren for Women. And he’s been busy ever since: thirty-three other scents (and counting) followed.
Here are a few who are now strutting their stuff (and super-sale prices) on the perfume.com Fashion Week runway:
Polo Double Black for Men by Ralph Lauren
Ralph took his iconic Polo fragrance to the edgier side with this one, which boasts a handful of scrummy spices (nutmeg and cardamom), notes of coffee, and spicy mango. Wear this one after you change out of your jodhpurs and into your smoking jacket, darlings. And don’t forget the ascot.
Ralph Lauren Romance
100+ reviewers can’t be wrong. Perfume.com customers love this classic scent from Ralph Lauren, with raves ranging from “a ‘must-have’ for special occasions” to “every time I wear it, I get endless compliments.” Maybe the best of all, this caveat: “This is the sexiest perfume I have ever come across… ladies be careful if you’re sensitive to that.”
Don’t say you haven’t been warned.
Ralph Rocks
Just because you’re a prep doesn’t mean you have to be a square. Here, Ralph explores his self-proclamed “rebellious side” with his “Rocks” scent that invites you to add kiwi, citrus. and “sexy woods” to your playlist. And if you ask me, it’s about time Rock and Roll got wise and started smelling like a grown-up.
