Meet the newest addtion to Perfume.com. . .

With top notes of wild strawberry, violet leaves, and grapefruit, middle notes of violet, jasmine, and gardenia, and base notes of vanilla infusion, musks, and white woods, Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume is considered “elegance with an unexpected twist.”  This notion applies not only to the fragrance but to its bottle and packaging, with “the classically proportioned, weighty glass bottle. . .topped with tactile daisies and a signature Marc Jacobs accent of gold hardware.”

The Daisy by Marc Jacobs 3-piece gift set includes a 3.4oz EDT spray, a 5.1oz Luminous Body Lotion, and mini EDT splash perfect for travel or touch-ups.

Just in time for Halloween, we’re dressing up our best perfume tricks and putting them on parade.

Our latest-and-greatest E-mail Extras newsletter features our editor’s craftiest perfume tricks, plus a highlight of some of our most favorite scents for the season… and at least one that’s on almost everybody’s favorite list, regardless of season.  (We’re talking to you, Marc Jacobs Daisy. And, may we say, what an ADORABLE flower costume you’re wearing!)

Sign-up here for our E-mail Extras to make sure you’re always in the n-”eau.” More reasons to join: exclusive access to more discounts! Woot woot!

And now, get your bags ready for a bevy of treats, and some tricks you will actually like. No need to even ring our doorbell.

    TRICK:
Dry winter skin doesn’t hold onto fragrance as well as its summer counterpart. Help your signature scent have as much staying-power as possible by doing some pre-perfume prep: exfoliate weekly (yep, your body needs it, too!), and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Best-case scenario? Pick a body lotion with the same scent as your fragrance of choice, natch.

    TREAT:

    Daisy by Marc Jacobs

We’re huge fans of fun, flirty Daisy–and we’re not alone. This one’s an editor favorite, with an adorable bottle to boot. (And we’ve got you covered in the body-lotion department with Daisy, too. Snap one up for steal here.)

With all the drama surrounding Serena and Blair, I thoughtlessly forgot to assign signature scents to Jenny Humphrey.  Who, by the way, looked pretty unforgettable last night at New York’s Metropolitan Opera opening night gala. Donned in a ruffle-y red Marchesa gown with classic red lips to match, she appeared well beyond her 15 years of age. Let the scent speculation begin:

Daisy by Marc Jacobs — Sophisticated, yet bright, playful, and whimsical.

Angel Innocent by Thierry Mugler –  A contradiction of the pure, fresh notes of honey, almond, mandarin, and exotic fruits mixed with warm, rich amber and musk.

Harajuku Lovers G — A cool and distinctive scent for “the leader of the pack” — something Jenny aspires to be?

Thoughs? Pipe up if you have any additions!

Most brides experience some degree of stress before the big day — there’s last minute dress fittings, honeymoon packing, talking your Italian Mother out of draping tulle over everything sitting still. (Or maybe that was just me.) Before my December 29th wedding, my fiancé was living 3000 miles away on the left coast while I was in NYC, single-handedly packing the contents of our apartment into FedEx boxes, bidding my besties farewell, interviewing for new jobs in LA, and all the while staying with my future in-laws. (Who, by the way, were very gracious to let me – and all my stuff – live with them for two months.)

By the time I finally made the move and came back to Philadelphia for the big event, I was too busy with last minute details to see straight. Which left no time for extraneous tasks, the not-necessaries but the nice-to-haves, which included picking out a signature wedding day scent. I had heard in various wedding mags about the notion – something sparkling and heavenly, something you’ve never before worn, something that –- because of the olfactory-memory connection — you’d always recall your wedding day when you caught a whiff.

My big day was, nonetheless, blissfully happy and amazingly exhausting. But if you’re getting married and have some spare time, I’d highly suggest taking some me-time to walk through your local department store’s beauty counter and find a fabulous fragrance to sport on your special day. Below, some popular wedding day scents:

    Vera Wang Sheer Veil

    Happy Heart by Clinique

    Philosophy Amazing Grace

    Ralph Lauren Romance

    Daisy by Marc Jacobs

If you’re hitched, what was your wedding day scent? If not, what do you love or recommend?
