October 18th marked the grand re-opening of the International Fragrance Museum in Grasse, France. After four years and 11.3 million euros, the museum is now double its original size and opened for business.
Considered the unofficial perfume capital of the world, Grasse houses 3 world-famous perfumeries: Fragonard, Molinard, and Galimard, and boasts weather perfect for plants like jasmine, lavender, and rose. Maybe its biggest claim to fame? Chanel No. 5 was born there.
So whether you’re a fragrance fanatic or just happen to find yourself in the area, duck in to check out a 3,000 year old perfumed-mummy or Marie Antoinette’s travel utility suitcase. (We’re not sure what that is but it sounds interesting!)
