• Fragrance Foundation honors Vivienne Westwood

  Last month in London, the Fragrance Foundation inducted Brit designer Vivienne Westwood into their prestigious Circle of Champions, citing her ability to consistently create fragrances “evocative of decades gone by.”

  Westwood is the brains behind a near forty-year-long celebrated career in fashion, and the nose behind a lauded collection of fragrances, including her first, Boudoir, which was launched in 1998.

• Now Debuting from Diddy: I Am King the fragrance/mini-movie (?)

  P. Diddy is set to launch his new men’s fragrance in December at Macy’s, an “untraditional fresh fruity woody scent” with the mouthful of a name: I Am King.

  He also, apparently, has his sights set on launching his career as an big-screen Action Adventure Hero while he’s at it. This week, Diddy released a “mini-movie” on his blog promoting the fragrance, which he also declared to be his “audition tape for the next James Bond.”

  As you can see, I Am King the “movie” has got everything you’re looking for in a fragrance-based Bond-styled mini movie: long-legged ladies, sexy international locales… a tuxedo-ed hero riding a wave runner.

  The only thing missing, of course, is anything at all having to do with fragrance.

• Scratch and Sniff! What the “Sexiest Men Alive” Smell Like

  People’s Sexiest Man Alive Issue hit stands Friday. And besides being full-to-the-brim with pics of handsome hunks (hubba hubba!), for the first time the mag’s also aiming for your other senses with an innovative scratch-n-sniff “Sexy Scents” section. 

  

  It goes like this: Michael Phelps loves YSL’s L’Homme cologne (a great choice for the Olympic golden boy), and when you scratch his photo you can sniff the scent. Revolutionary! If only this kind of technology was around back when we were papering the walls with our crushes from Tiger Beat. (What do you the New Kids wore back in the day?)

  Still, some of the featured pin-ups don’t name a signature scent, just accords that they are fond of. That’s where we come in…

  

  Gossip Girls hottie Chace Crawford tells the mag he loves the smell of “freshly cut grass.” Well, Chace, looks like we know what we’re putting under the tree for you this year: Loris Azzaro’s Chrome cologne. Reminiscent of grassy fields and fruit trees, this refreshing frag will drive the ladies wild, guaranteed.

  

  When it comes to scents, Law & Order Hot Cop Chris Meloni reports he prefers “a day at the beach” to the mean streets of NYC. Our pick for you, Mr. Meloni: Bermuda Tonic by Aramis.
